Construction of Six Highways Underway in Sialkot

According to the latest update, Deputy Commissioner Capt. (Retd.) Shahmeer Iqbal said that work is underway on six highways as part of the Punjab government’s city package aimed at modernizing Sialkot. According to sources, a meeting was held at the DC office on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, where Mir Iqbal stated that the estimated construction cost of these six highways is PKR 1,091 million under the city package.

The main goal of the project is to improve the infrastructure of this industrially important city. In the meeting, directions were given to complete the ongoing construction work by mid-December. To ensure that the packages are completed on schedule, Iqbal emphasized that daily supervision is in place.
