Punjab Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar recently approved preliminary plans for the construction of an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk and the development of a one-way flyover at Ghora Chowk for cavalry, a news source reported.
This development will turn the road connecting Center Point (Gulberg) with the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore into a signal-free corridor. According to available information, the project is expected to cost PKR 2.7 billion and will help bring the entire Gulberg area to a signal-free.

Preliminary planning for the proposal proposed by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is carried out by National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK).
News sources say Khalid Butt Chowk has a four-lane wide double driveway and two-way underpass to make Gulberg signal less and provide quick access to DHA, Cantt and Cavalry via Gulberg. At Cavalry Ghora Chowk, a three-lane-wide one-way bridge will be built to connect the DHA with the cavalry.
The project also includes remodeling of Defense Morr and Walton Road. Reportedly, the project will benefit 150,000 drivers daily.
