LDA Instruction Using CCTV Cameras to Monitor Development Projects

As per the latest news reports, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa (Lahore Commissioner and LDA Director) has instructed Closed Circuit Television ( CCTV ) cameras to be used to monitor the pace and quality of ongoing development work on recent projects along the city.

CCTV monitoring can also help with the depreciation of improper use of funds in public projects. As mentioned above, along with using technology to monitor projects, LDA will also utilize community feedback and engagement.

The Commissioner toured the CBD Underpass work site, Lahore Bridge and Samanabad-Gulshan Ravi Underpass earlier this Friday (March 10th). He also decided to personally monitor these projects with the help of IT-based technology.

Moreover, he instructed to the relevant team to request a consultant to urgently install a camera on site so that monitoring can be effective. Sources said the commissioner had instructed officers to address traffic issues on Shahdara's multi-level Flyover before development began.
