'PM visits Gwadar to check work progress of CPEC Phase 2 development'

According to news sources, CPEC authorities chairman Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan visit Gwadar to check on the progress of the project started in Phase 2 of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During a visit to the project site on Hoshab-Awaran Road, the chairman emphasized that the development of Gwadar is a key priority for the PM. He also said that road development in Balochistan is important because it will improve connectivity with the port of Gwadar and the rest of the country.

In addition, Balochistan's Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan (CM) has approved a 600 billion PKR program to help the most vulnerable. The activation package includes several development plans developed in collaboration with state and federal administrations. Work is currently underway on 80 other schemes

Chairman Retd Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said that Gwadar's 150MW project is under construction to supply electricity to remote areas. Beyond that, work is underway on several initiatives aimed at providing clean drinking water.

Further progress in Balochistan, the president announced the construction of 31 dams in nine districts. Work on 15 dams has already begun and development on other dams will begin soon.
