The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to remodel the Ghous-e-Azam Underpass Jail Road to eliminate the signal and facilitate traffic flow to Jallo Morr.
Authorities have allocated PKR 760 million to the project, and final approval will be made in the Provincial working party meeting at the end of July.
This decision was made due to a strategic flaw in the underpass that resulted in several fatal accidents. According to the details, all underpasses on Canal Road are on the right, with the exception of the Ghous-e-Azam underpass on the left.
Due to the traffic inconvenience caused by the arrangement of the underpass, Punjab's CM Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered the renovation of the jail road underpass to ease traffic flow and prevent future accidents.
