As per the news sources on December 22, the Punjab government announced rupees 4.11 billion for road infrastructure projects in various parts of Lahore, including the signal-free Center-Point to DHA corridor ). Funds have been transferred to a Punjab Planning & Development (P&D) account.

As per the news, A total of Rs 4.6 billion has been invested in the Annual Development Program (ADP) to build newly restored streets in the city to ease travel. The most noted of these projects is the Signal free Corridor connecting Center Point and Defense Morr.

The project will build a full-height underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk near Cavalry Ground. Ghoda Chowk also has a 1-lane and 3-lane flyover to Defense Mor. Upon completion of the project, there will be a signal-free corridor to and from the Gulberg, Defense and Cavalry grounds, reducing traveling times. A new U-turn is added at the new midpoint.
