According to recently released news, Prime Minister Usman Buzdar (CM) has not yet approved the Lahore Development Authority's (LDA) remodeling of Maulana Shaukat Ali Road.
LDA Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar explained the mega remodeling project to CM Buzdar in early June, but the project is still pending approval. According to the details, the LDA has proposed a plan to convert one of the main arteries, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, into a 15 km long signal-free corridor to control traffic flow.

The estimated cost of the project was PKR 7 billion. The purpose of this project was to connect the two arteries of Ferozepur Road and Multan Road. The remodeling will also start at Kharak Stop on Multan Road to the roundabout at Karim Block Market, turning towards Punjab University.
A ramp is installed on half of the overhead bridge to allow drivers and cyclists to cross the road. In addition to this, it also improves traffic flow while reducing fuel costs. LDA's chief engineer, Mazhar Khan, said the government could approve the remodeling project in a matter of days.
