Official sources say the PM's visit is very important from PTI's point of view, focusing on infrastructure development projects in Lahore, known as the stronghold of PML-N.
The Rs 4.9bn Sheranwala Gate project has a 1km flyover from Naulakha Police Station to Sheranwala Gate (probably the longest flight in the city so far).
The 400m high flyover is expected to solve the traffic problem on the ring road, where 121,421 vehicles pass per day. The project cost more than 2 billion rupees to purchase land for 22 Kanals.
Rs 4.3 billion Shahkam Chowk overhead project covers Link Canal Road (Thokar Niaz Beg to Shahkam Chowk), traffic congestion at Shahkam junction, Bahria Town, Mohlanwal Stop (Multan Road) and new defenses. Work on this project was started by a contractor last month.
