Phase 1 of the Margalla Road project is expected to be completed in July.

As per the information, the Metropolitan Development Authority has announced that Phase 1 of Margalla Road (from GT Road to D12 Sector) will be completed by July of this year. As per the updates on 24 th March. The 33 km road infrastructure project includes road construction, maintenance and repair.

As per the reports, 80% of the project work is complete, including repair work on the 3 km section and the installation of protective barriers and partitions. Construction companies also laid drain along the roads. Also, the company is leveling roads and removing waste from designated roads.

Additionally, in Phase 2 of the project, an 8km road will be built on Murree Road near Quaid-Azam University that will bypass Bhara Kahu and reconnect with Murree Road. Upon completion of the project, traffic in the area will be improved by linking Margalla Hills to GT Road. CDA has also completed the Environmental Assessment Survey of the area by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The decision to implement the EAS was made in response to concerns about the negative impact on society by residents of Sector D12 and the destruction of Magala Hills National Park. After EAS approved the project, CDA start construction work on the project.
