Lahore Road Projects Meeting held by Prime Minister

Prime Minister Imran Khan said long-term planning for the city center is needed. This long-term plan will improve the city's management, public service delivery and revenue generation.

The prime minister spoke at a meeting to reduce the burden of vehicular traffic in the city of Lahore. He highlighted the use of major urban land that Lahore has enormous potential to generate revenue and is currently unused and merely "dead capital". He proposed that other city projects in Lahore would operate in a public-private partnership model in the Ravi Urban Development and Central Business District project line.

As per the information, the Expressway was upgraded from the Gulberg Main Boulevard to the "M2 Motorway" project. He also said that the Punjab government had invested Rs 5 billion in the project, and the total cost of the project was approximate Rs 61 billion, and the completion time period is 15-month. The project saves an average of 30 minutes of time on the route and can handle 73,000 vehicles per day. The meeting was also attended by Federal Ministers Mr. Shaukat Tarin, Mr. Shafqat Mehmood, Mr. Asad Umar, Mr. Fawad Chaudhry, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdarr, Provincial Ministers, and Senior Officers.
