Lahore DC briefs on the use of plastics in road projects

As per the news, Lahore's Deputy Commissioner (DC) Umer Shah Chattha chair meeting on 1st January to discuss the use of plastics in the construction of city roads.

As per the information, the local administration will start a pilot project to build a one-kilometer-long plastic road. Dr. Waqas Cheema was invited by the district administration to give a presentation on plastic road construction.

According to Dr. Cheema, eight types of plastic are used to build roads. Plastics are cleaned and dried before being ground into powder in the aforementioned construction projects. The powder is then mixed with charcoal and used in the road construction process.

In addition, also disclosed that a total of 5 tonnes of plastic would be used to build the road. It is also reported that 5% plastic and 95% charcoal will be used in construction.

LDA announced earlier this week that the Ferozepur road will be rebuilt using plastic. This will be the first plastic road built in Lahore.
