Elevated highway project approved by CM Buzdar

As per the latest news reports, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has approved the final approval for the Elevated Highway project in Gulberg-Lahore. The PKR 60 billion costs of projects will start soon and construction will begin next month.

As per the report, the project received final approval and was included in the annual development project at the meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Financial Development. The 10.5 km double corridor project connects the M-2 Lahore Islamabad Motorway with the Gulberg, Multan and Canal Roads. Gulberg will be the starting point for the project ending at Babu Sabu Interchange.

As per the project's PC-1 details, the corridor serves 47,000 passengers and travelers daily, reducing travel time from 40 minutes to 15 minutes. Canal Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Band Road, and Multan Road have exits and entrances to the highway. The overpass project will include eight double carriageways, which will help to reduce the city's growing traffic problem.
