IHC looks for records from CDA related to acquired land

The High Court of Islamabad (IHC) on Monday requested a record from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) regarding the acquisition of land in various sectors in a case moved by affectees.

Upon hearing the case, Justice Athar Minallah observed that many victims died waiting for compensation from the CDA.

Special Assistant to CDA Prime Minister Ali Nawaz Awan's pleaded that the third generation of CDA is now awaiting compensation. He said the court had brought the responsibilities of the court as commission chairman to the matter and submitted a report.

He also said civic organizations were instructed to implement commission recommendations for the E-12 and I-12 sectors.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said, 52 years later, where refugees should go, adding that they are not such a precedent in the world.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah said land mining continued in the federal capital. People are being deprived of their rights, he said.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court observed who could better understand citizens issues than the elected members. The court ordered the CDA to submit the records until November 19th and adjourned the hearing of the case.
