Flyover at Karim Market postponed, other infrastructure projects approved for Lahore

The Punjab government has delayed the flyover and underpass development at the Karim Market intersection at Allama Iqbal Town Lahore for six months and it is announced by the government that it will be constructed on five large-scale development projects of 20.5 billion PKR at the end of April, according to a recently published news report

The local government is currently implementing contractor qualification, bidding process, contract orders, fund transfer, etc.' for five infrastructure megaprojects in Lahore.

The upcoming projects are:

  • Flyover construction at Sheranwala Gate
  • Ghulab Devi Hospital underpass construction
  • Construction of additional lanes on the Lahore Bridge (Ferozepur Road)
  • Flyover construction at Shahkam Chowk
  • Construction of 5 underpasses on The Mall

Reportedly, the project has been ready for launch and the Lahore Development Authority has been tasked with developing these projects in a timely manner.

These projects have been authorized to take into account studies related to the number of vehicles passing, traffic jams, public needs, environmental impacts and pollution.
