According to reports and forecasts from economists, there will be approximately $10 billion in business activity per year after the Gwadar port and the Gwadar Free Zone are fully functional.
Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, head of the CPEC, spoke to reporters and shared the progress of the Gwadar port operation. He said the Gwadar Free Zone will start production soon after completion and the exchange of goods will increase along with cargo activity.
Asim Saleem Bajwa also said he and his team will track progress until completion. He also said that the infrastructure work was completed by China Port Holding Company at a cost of $300 million.
