Completion of Phase 1 of Allama Iqbal Industrial City Under CPEC

The first phase of the Alama Iqbal Industrial City, Punjab's first Special Economic Zone (SEZ) within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has been completed.

Mian Kashif Ashfaq, chairman of Faisalabad Industrial Park Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), told a delegation of exporters and investors that Prime Minister Imran Khan said nearly 20 industrial units have started production. The industrial city of Iqbal remains and is expected to start operation by the end of the year.

Mian Kashif said industrial plots are being allotted to export-based industries, import substitution industries and relocation of local industries under the transparent policy of Punjab Prime Minister Usman Buzdar.

He attended a meeting with the Prime Minister the other day, where he is optimistic about the future of the country and offers the best possible incentive package to foreign and local investors to boost industrial production to strengthen the national economy that promises a better life. He said he was completely committed to Conditions for the poorer classes of society.

He said the prime minister has already approved a 500 mega-watt grid station and 40 MMCF gas to meet the needs of industrial units. He said he has spent 7.5 billion rupees so far to complete phase one.
