The first order of smart waste management systems for Capital Smart City and Royal Orchard Multan is ready for dispatch from Italy. The equipment was purchased from ESA, Italy's largest waste management company. The Capital Smart City team conducted an inspection of the material on October 15, 2020, at the ESA factory in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Initially, 348 boxes were purchased along with two garbage collection trucks (IVECO) and a solar garbage compactor. Each basket has a capacity of 3,000 litres and the truck can hold 21 cubic meters (10 tons) for compressed waste through automatic waste collection, automatic transmission and command-based operation. The truck is equipped with a tracker with PLC and camera to monitor the operation in the control room, increasing the efficiency of the system and manpower resources.
Smart & proper waste management systems have never been introduced in Pakistan by the government or any other private sector.
